Have I changed?

The Parable of the Wedding Feast reminds me that God’s invitation to enter His Kingdom is freely offered to everyone, but it also calls for a response. The king prepares a magnificent wedding feast for his son, symbolizing God’s desire to share His joy and salvation with us. Yet, surprisingly, those who were originally invited refuse to come. Some ignore the invitation while others actively reject it. This challenges me to reflect on how easily I can become distracted by the things of everyday life and fail to recognize God’s invitation when it comes.

What strikes me most is that the king does not give up. He sends his servants out again, inviting everyone they can find, “both good and bad.” This shows the generosity and inclusiveness of God’s mercy. His invitation is not limited to those who think they are worthy. God calls all of us, regardless of our past, weaknesses, or failures.

However, the parable also contains a serious warning. One guest arrives without a wedding garment and is eventually thrown out. The wedding garment can represent the conversion of heart and the willingness to live according to God’s ways. It reminds me that accepting God’s invitation is not simply about saying “yes” with my words. My life must also reflect that “yes.” My life has to be transformed and changed.

For me, this parable is ultimately about grace, response, and transformation. God continually invites me to His feast, but I must choose to accept that invitation wholeheartedly and allow His love to change the way I live.
