Today’s Gospel speaks of John the Baptist, who is asked to announce the coming of a Jesus. He says to the Pharisees and Sadducees “bear fruits that befits repentance”.
This line struck a chord with me.
As we start to prepare for the coming of the Lord in Christmas, we sometimes start to think about the presents that we have to put under the Christmas tree, or the presents that we hope we would get.
But I also thought about what presents are we giving to Jesus? These are the fruits that we need to offer to Him if we claim we are Christians.
Time to pause to reflect.
