This week’s Gospel is a simple reminder to us to be thankful for all that we have been blessed with. Do we identify with the 9 lepers that did not return to thank Jesus or do we identify with the one that did?
Myself, after going through the whole experience of having a heart issue and coming out of it fairly intact having the stent put in, am grateful to God for giving me this chance of new life.
One way to express this as the homilist says is simply to pray and be thankful. We often pray for help, for petitions, but we seldom simply pray to thank God for all the wonderful things he has blessed us in our lives.
For me, the simple ability to even be here typing this is a big deal for me.
Thank you Lord.
